Author Bio:
Grace Walker Looper grew up in North Carolina. She earned a Bachelor's Degree from Lenoir Rhyne College in Hickory, North Carolina, and two Master's Degrees, English and Library Science, from Winthrop University in Rock Hill, South Carolina. She writes all types of fiction and has won several awards, especially for her juvenile fiction. Molasses Making Time is her first novel. She lives in Rock Hill with her husband, Mitchell, son, Paul Taylor, and Yorkie, Misty.

Grace Looper won first place in the Cloak and Dagger Mystery Short Story Writing Contest for her story "A Smiley Face." The judge was Jeremiah Healy, aka Terry Devane, writer of 18 novels and over 60 stories, and past-president of the Private Eye Writers of America and the International Assoc. of Crime Writers.

That's not all — Grace also won second place at the Sand Hills Writers Conference in Augusta with the first chapter and synopsis of her novel "Southern Fire."

And she won second place in the Charlotte Writers Club children's story contest.
